Organ Recital with Anthony Newman

Acclaimed organist Anthony Newman performs a varied program of works to showcase the full capabilities of the new Peragallo organ at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. This inaugural concert will demonstrate the huge breadth of the organ which is a pipe/digital hybrid comprised of St. Stephen's 1969 Casavant pipe organ and digital additions from Walker Digital, all brought together by the Peragallo Pipe Organ Co. of Paterson, NJ.

Anthony Newman is one of the greatest exponents in America of the Baroque keyboard repertoire. Described by Wynton Marsalis as "The High Priest of Bach", and by Time Magazine as "The High Priest of the Harpsichord", Newman continues his 50-year career as America's leading organist, harpsichordist and Bach specialist. Newman has recorded more than 170 CDs and has appeared at the Lincoln Center more than sixty times, collaborating with many of the greats of music, including Leonard Bernstein, James Levine, Itzhak Perlman, Lorin Mazel & Mstislav Rostropovich.
